Who this is for

Best for

Best for budget-conscious coyote, hog and predator hunters who want 3× native magnification, an integrated LRF and a ballistic calculator without paying for a 640-resolution scope. It is especially well suited for: Buyers moving into their first dedicated thermal rifle scope Hunters who already use a separate handheld scanner Typical shooting distances around 75–200 yards Smaller fields, pastures and predictable shooting lanes Hunters who prefer a larger 3× starting image Buyers who value rangefinding and ballistic tools over maximum sensor resolution Rifle setups where the scope is primarily used for shooting rather than scanning

Not ideal for

Not ideal for hunters who need a wide field of view, frequently scan through their rifle scope or expect 640-class image detail after applying digital zoom.

Full product description

Nocpix RICO 3 L35R Thermal Rifle Scope

The Nocpix RICO 3 L35R brings the core RICO 3 shooting platform to a lower price point. It combines a 384×288 thermal sensor with a 35 mm f/1.0 objective lens, 3× native magnification, integrated rangefinding and onboard ballistic calculations.

This configuration makes the L35R a practical option for hunters who already carry a thermal monocular or binocular for scanning and want a dedicated rifle scope with a larger starting image.

384×288 thermal sensor

The L35R uses a 384×288, 12-micron thermal sensor with a manufacturer-listed sensitivity of ≤15 mK and a 60 Hz refresh rate.

A 384 sensor can work well at normal hunting distances, but it does not preserve as much detail as the 640×512 H35R when digital magnification is applied. Buyers should choose the L35R for its value, integrated shooting tools and 3× base image—not because it will match the image quality of the more expensive 640 models.

3× base magnification and 4× digital zoom

The L35R starts at 3× native magnification and offers up to 4× digital zoom, creating a total available magnification range of 3× to 12×.

The 3× base image makes animals appear larger than they do through the 2× H35R. However, the L35R has a narrower 7.5° × 5.7° field of view. This makes it better suited to aiming at an animal that has already been located than searching a large area through the rifle scope.

Integrated 1,600-yard laser rangefinder

The integrated laser rangefinder is rated for measurements up to 1,600 yards and supports individual and continuous ranging.

Actual rangefinder performance depends on the target’s size, surface, reflectivity, angle and environmental conditions. The LRF’s maximum rating should not be confused with the distance at which a 384-resolution thermal can positively identify an animal.

Onboard ballistic calculator

The L35R includes a multi-variable ballistic calculator that can generate an aiming solution after an individual range measurement.

Multiple zeroing profiles and distances can be saved for different rifles or ammunition. Ballistic calculations are not active during continuous-rangefinding mode.

Circular AMOLED display

The L35R uses the same 1.03-inch circular AMOLED display and 2560×2560 display resolution listed for the higher-priced standard RICO 3 models.

Available palettes include:

  • White Hot
  • Black Hot
  • Red Hot
  • Rainbow
  • Violet
  • Crimson
  • Viridian

Picture-in-picture mode can provide a magnified aiming window while retaining the surrounding base image.

Recording, photography and storage

The L35R includes:

  • Still-image capture
  • Standard video recording
  • Recoil-activated video
  • Microphone support
  • 64 GB of internal storage
  • Wi-Fi connectivity
  • Nocpix app compatibility
  • Image and video transfer through the app

The standard RICO 3 manual confirms photo capture and video recording, with files saved to the internal 64 GB storage.

Battery and charging

The L35R uses removable NBP-8 lithium-ion batteries. Two packs are included, and each is rated for up to 10 hours of operation.

Charging options include:

  • Direct USB-C charging of each battery
  • Magnetic charging through the scope
  • USB-C charging through the scope
  • Compatible 5V power bank or external power supply

The manual confirms two rechargeable NBP-8 batteries with up to 10 hours of operation per pack.

Mounting and construction

The L35R includes a dual-throw quick-detach Picatinny mount. Its magnesium-alloy housing is rated IP67 and manufacturer-rated for recoil up to 1000 g/s², with .300 Win. Mag. and 7 mm Magnum listed as reference recoil classes.

At 28.89 ounces, it is the lightest model in the RICO 3 riflescope family.
