Nocpix MICRO2 Clip-On Guide: Scope Compatibility and Setup
Share
Quick Answer: Can the MICRO2 Work as a Thermal Clip-On?
Yes. The Nocpix MICRO2 H25 and Ultra support clip-on use ahead of a compatible day scope. The model-specific instructions list day-scope magnification up to 10x. Before ordering, confirm the mounting arrangement, optical alignment, available space, and the hardware required for your exact setup. Select clip-on mode and follow the manufacturer’s calibration and verification procedure.
A clip-on purchase starts with the daytime optic and mounting arrangement you already have. Matching those components is more useful than choosing from sensor resolution alone. This guide explains what to check, how the operating modes differ, and what the published magnification limit actually means.
How MICRO2 Clip-On Use Differs From Standalone Use
In standalone use, the MICRO2 functions as the thermal sight with its own reticle. In clip-on use, it sits ahead of the daytime scope and presents the thermal scene through that scope. The manual provides a separate clip-on interface and screen-adjustment profiles.
That is why switching operating modes matters. A device attached in front of a day scope should not be left in another mode simply because an image is visible. Use the configuration and calibration instructions for the intended role.
What Does “Up to 10x” Mean?
The 10x figure refers to the setting of a compatible day scope. It is the manufacturer’s published upper support limit, not a promise that every scope will fit or that every scene will look equally useful at that setting.
The MICRO2’s own digital zoom is separate. The H25 provides up to 4x digital zoom and Ultra up to 8x in standalone/handheld mode. Digital zoom is disabled in clip-on and helmet modes. Do not multiply the 10x day-scope setting by another available device zoom factor.
Before selecting a configuration, ask whether the image, display area, and controls remain useful at the scope settings you normally use. A maximum supported setting should not replace that check.
Compatibility Checks Before Buying
| Check | What to Confirm |
|---|---|
| Day optic | Exact manufacturer, model, magnification range, and normal settings. |
| Mounting method | The approved attachment and required MICRO2 hardware for your configuration. |
| Optical alignment | Mount heights and whether the thermal display can be correctly aligned with the day optic. |
| Available space | Room ahead of the scope and clearance around the objective, controls, and supporting equipment. |
| Package contents | Which parts come with the exact product or bundle and which are separate. |
| Verification | The manufacturer’s procedure for calibrating and checking the completed setup. |
The manual’s package list includes a 1.93-inch OEM rifle mount. PICTAIL is optional and not included. An included mount does not automatically establish correct alignment with your existing scope. Confirm the complete arrangement before buying extra components.

MICRO2 H25 or Ultra for Clip-On Use?
Both models share the published 10x day-scope support limit, a 25mm f/1.0 lens, 60 Hz refresh, and a 2560x2560 AMOLED display. Their thermal sensors and fields of view differ.
- MICRO2 H25: 640x512 sensor, 17.5° × 13.1° field of view, lower published weight, and longer standard runtime.
- MICRO2 Ultra S25: 1280x960 sensor and a wider 34.2° × 25.9° field of view.
The Ultra’s larger total pixel count does not by itself establish more detail on the same animal through the same day scope. Compare relevant imagery with the scope setting, operating mode, and distance identified.

Saved Clip-On Profiles Still Need Verification
The manual describes three clip-on screen-adjustment profiles: A, B, and C. They store calibration settings for different setups. These are separate from the standalone/handheld zeroing profiles.
A saved profile should be associated with the configuration for which it was established. Selecting a familiar profile does not prove that a changed mounting arrangement remains correctly calibrated. Follow the manual and verify the completed setup after relevant changes.
This article does not provide a universal offset, mount-height prescription, or adjustment value. Those depend on the exact model and configuration.
Check Focus and Calibration Separately
A blurry image, an uneven background, and an alignment problem are different symptoms. Objective focus changes scene sharpness. Non-uniformity correction, or NUC, addresses the sensor image. Clip-on screen adjustment addresses image positioning.
Identify the symptom before changing settings. If you need help with image quality, recording, power, or operating mode, use our MICRO2 setup and troubleshooting guide.
Plan Power Around Recording and Wireless Use
The published standard runtime is approximately 6.5 hours per 18650 battery for H25 and 4.5 hours for Ultra. Auto Power Saving extends those figures to up to nine and six hours respectively, with operating restrictions.
While active, that saving mode turns off Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, the microphone, and recoil-activated video. Recording is unavailable until wake-up. If those functions matter to your clip-on use, plan around standard runtime and the relevant enabled functions.

MICRO2 Clip-On Frequently Asked Questions
Can both MICRO2 models be used ahead of a day scope?
Yes. Both support clip-on use with the correct configuration. Compatibility includes the attachment, alignment, clearance, and intended scope settings.
Is 10x the MICRO2’s digital zoom?
No. It is the manufacturer’s published upper day-scope magnification for clip-on use. The MICRO2’s digital zoom is disabled in clip-on mode.
Is PICTAIL included?
No. It is listed as optional and not included. Check your exact bundle before ordering additional hardware.
Do saved profiles guarantee calibration after remounting?
No. They store settings. The configuration still needs to be checked and verified according to the manual.
Will my RH25 V2 accessories transfer?
Have the exact part numbers and interfaces checked. Similar product names do not establish compatibility.
Should I choose Ultra solely for clip-on use?
Compare the image and complete setup at your intended scope settings. Its sensor format and wider field of view are differences, but they do not settle every clip-on buying decision.
