Quick answer
The Nocpix MICRO2 H25 combines a 640x512 sensor, 2560x2560 AMOLED display, and four uses: helmet, handheld, clip-on, and standalone sight. Get day-scope support up to 10x and published runtime of about 6.5 hours, or up to 9 hours in Auto Power Saving mode.
Who this is for
Best for
Hunters and landowners who want one 640-resolution thermal for handheld scanning, helmet-mounted observation, clip-on use, and standalone sight use. A practical choice when lower weight, longer battery life, and overall setup cost matter more than the Ultra’s wider field of view.
Not ideal for
Buyers who need a built-in laser rangefinder, integrated digital night vision, or the Ultra’s wider viewing area. Also worth comparing with a dedicated optic if you only need one operating role.

Full product description
Nocpix MICRO2 H25: 640 Thermal for Helmet, Handheld, Clip-On and Sight Use
The Nocpix MICRO2 H25 is a 4-in-1 thermal optic with a 640 × 512 sensor, 25mm f/1.0 lens, and 2560 × 2560 AMOLED display. It works as a handheld scanner, helmet-mounted monocular, thermal clip-on, and standalone thermal sight when configured for the role.
The H25 is the lower-cost option in the MICRO2 pair. It combines a 17.5° × 13.1° field of view with a published 11.2-ounce optic weight and approximately 6.5 hours of standard runtime per battery. Choose it when that viewing format fits your use and you want the MICRO2 platform's versatility without paying for the Ultra's wider scene.
Why Choose the MICRO2 H25?
- 640 × 512 thermal sensor: a Nocpix Gen II core with 12 µm pixels, ≤15 mK NETD, and 60 Hz refresh.
- 2560 × 2560 AMOLED display: the same published display resolution as the Ultra, with a different thermal sensor feeding it.
- Clip-on support up to 10×: expanded support compared with the RH25 V2's published 6× limit.
- Three clip-on profiles: save calibration settings for different setups and verify each combination.
- Up to 9 hours in Auto Power Saving: longer published runtime than the Ultra, with wireless and recording limitations while saving power.
- Helmet features: Dual-Link, Flip Standby, and NV Highlight and Outline modes support more specialized configurations.
Four Uses From One MICRO2 H25
| Handheld scanner | Scan without dedicating the optic to one rifle. In the shared standalone/handheld mode, the reticle can be hidden for observation. |
|---|---|
| Helmet-mounted monocular | Use a compatible helmet mounting system for hands-free scanning. Fit, eye alignment, balance and the correct optic adapter matter. |
| Thermal clip-on | Place the optic ahead of compatible daytime glass. The manufacturer supports day-scope settings up to 10×; use the correct mount and verify alignment. |
| Standalone thermal sight | Use the device with its own reticle and a correctly fitted rifle mount. Confirm setup and zero according to the manual. |
What Changes From the RH25 V2?
The H25 moves from the RH25 V2's 640 × 480 sensor to 640 × 512. That is about 6.7% more total sensor pixels. Its 1.03-inch, 2560 × 2560 display is also a substantial resolution increase over the V2's 1440 × 1080 display. Display resolution and sensor resolution describe different parts of the imaging chain; a higher-resolution display does not turn this into a 1280 thermal sensor.
Other upgrades include support for day scopes up to 10×, three clip-on zeroing profiles, and the new helmet and power-management functions. If you already own a RICO MICRO, have the exact mount and adapter part numbers checked before assuming your hardware transfers.
Helmet Use and Separate Night Vision
The H25 has a dedicated helmet mode with its own image positioning and calibration options. Dual-Link coordinates settings between two MICRO2 devices. Flip Standby puts the optic into standby when raised on the helmet mount and wakes it when returned to the viewing position.
NV Highlight and Outline simplify the thermal image when pairing with a separate night-vision optic. They do not make the H25 an integrated thermal/digital night-vision fusion device. Compare helmet-mounted thermal options and use the helmet setup guide to plan the complete system.
Clip-On Magnification and Digital Zoom Are Different
In clip-on mode, the H25 supports a compatible day scope set up to 10×. Its own digital zoom is a separate feature: up to 4× digital zoom is available in standalone/handheld mode and is disabled in helmet and clip-on modes.
The manual lists 1.5× for standalone/handheld viewing and describes separate image scaling for helmet and clip-on use. Treat magnification as mode-specific rather than calling every configuration “true 1×.” Confirm your day scope, mounting height, available space, and attachment before buying a thermal clip-on setup.
Battery Life With the Operating Mode Explained
The H25 uses one replaceable 18650 battery at a time and supports USB-C external power. Published runtime is approximately 6.5 hours in standard use, or up to 9 hours with Auto Power Saving. Conditions and enabled functions affect actual runtime.
The saving mode disables Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, the microphone, and recoil-activated video while active. Recording is unavailable until wake-up. If remote control, linked operation, or continuous recording matters, budget around standard runtime rather than assuming every feature remains active for nine hours.
For capture and file management, the H25 has 64 GB of storage, photo and video recording, a microphone, recoil-activated video, Wi-Fi 6, and Nocpix app support.
MICRO2 H25 vs. Ultra: Which Makes More Sense?
The H25 is lighter and has longer published runtime. The Ultra adds a 1280 × 960 sensor and a much wider 34.2° × 25.9° view. Both use a 25mm f/1.0 lens, 60 Hz refresh, ≤15 mK NETD, and a 2560 × 2560 AMOLED display.
Choose H25 when its view and performance fit the job and the lower total cost matters. Consider Ultra when wider scanning coverage is worth the extra cost and weight. A side-by-side image comparison at your usual distances is more useful than choosing from the sensor number alone.
