What the T-CROW Elite Is—and What It Is Not

The T-CROW Elite is a remote-controlled carrier for a compatible thermal imaging camera or night vision handheld. The platform moves the attached optic through a pan-and-tilt range while you control the platform with the included Remote Control 2.0 or a compatible mobile app. The manufacturer describes the T-CROW platform as a controllable 360-degree scanning solution.

It is not a thermal camera. The system does not create a thermal image by itself, and it does not increase the sensor resolution, detection range or image quality of the device mounted to it. Those capabilities still come from your thermal or night vision optic.

It does not automatically control every camera function. The platform controls where the optic points. Zoom, palettes, recording and other camera settings depend on the attached device and its own controls or app. Live video on a phone also depends on whether the attached optic supports compatible video streaming.

How the System Works

1. Secure the T-CROW Elite to a suitable vehicle roof or stationary mounting surface using the appropriate included mounting hardware.
2. Attach a compatible thermal or night vision handheld to the quick-release camera adapter.
3. Connect the platform to the remote or app and connect the optic to its supported viewing method.
4. Pan and tilt the optic remotely to search terrain while viewing the image through the optic's supported display or app.

Compatibility: Check These Five Things Before Ordering

The manufacturer says the platform works with almost every thermal imaging and night vision handheld, but “almost every” is not the same as universal. Verify the exact optic and installation.

1. Mounting interface: confirm that your optic can attach securely to the supplied quick-release adapter and 1/4-inch tripod adapter.
2. Weight: the listed maximum payload is approximately 5.5–6.6 lb (2.5–3 kg). Include the optic, adapter and any attached power accessories in the total.
3. Size and clearance: make sure the device can move without its body, eyecup, cables or controls striking the mount.
4. Video viewing: confirm that the optic offers the live-view or streaming method you intend to use. The T-CROW moves the camera; it does not add video streaming to a device that lacks it.
5. Roof or mounting surface: confirm that the surface is clean, suitable and compatible with the chosen feet or adapter. A magnet will not attach to aluminum, composite or other non-ferrous panels.

Thermal and Night Vision Compatibility

The platform is intended for compatible thermal imaging cameras and night vision devices. Vehicle and Stationary Mounting

The Elite package includes three suction feet, the stabilizing HD_Mount third-foot assembly, an M8 single-magnet adapter and blind-mount hardware. Choose the mounting method for the surface and application, then follow the manufacturer's installation and inspection instructions. Recheck the attachment before every use and after rough roads, temperature changes or contamination.

Battery and USB-C Power

The internal 3,350 mAh battery is listed for approximately 7–9 hours of operation, with a four-hour charging time. USB-C supports charging, and the USB-C output can supply power to an attached camera. The platform can also be charged while operating. Actual runtime will vary with movement, temperature, accessory power draw, battery condition and use pattern.

Remote and App Control

The package includes Remote Control 2.0 with a protective cover, and the manufacturer lists app support for iOS and Android. The app can combine platform control with supported live video. Weather and Field Use

The manufacturer describes the unit as “IP57 ready” and lists an operating range of approximately −4°F to 122°F (−20°C to 50°C). “IP57 ready” is the manufacturer's wording and should not be treated as an independent IP certification claim.
