What the T-CROW Does

The T-CROW is a motorized carrier for a compatible thermal imaging camera or night vision handheld. It gives the attached optic remote pan-and-tilt movement, including 360-degree rotation, so the user can systematically search the surrounding area from a vehicle or stationary location. The platform can be controlled through the included Remote Control V2.0 or the XSPECTER app.

Instead of buying a second thermal core for the vehicle, you mount a handheld you already own to the T-CROW's universal camera adapter. The platform controls where the optic points; the optic still determines image quality, resolution, detection range, zoom, palettes, recording and other camera functions.

What the T-CROW Does Not Do

• It does not produce a thermal image: a compatible thermal or night vision device must be added.
• It does not improve the optic's sensor: image quality and usable identification distance remain limited by the attached camera.
• It does not make every optic stream video: phone-based live viewing depends on the attached device and its supported connection.
• It does not make every vehicle roof magnetic: the base requires a suitable ferrous mounting surface.
• It does not replace safe driving practices: a passenger should operate the scanner while the vehicle is moving, or the vehicle should be safely stopped.

How the Complete Setup Works

1. Place and secure the angle-adjustable magnetic base on a clean, suitable steel surface according to the manufacturer instructions.
2. Adjust the base and third foot so the platform is supported correctly on the mounting surface.
3. Attach a compatible handheld to the universal camera adapter and confirm movement clearance.
4. Connect USB-C power if the attached device and cable are compatible.
5. Pair the remote or supported app, then control the platform while viewing the image through the optic's own supported display or app.

T-CROW vs. a Dedicated Vehicle-Mounted Thermal Camera

This Configuration vs. a Larger Complete T-CROW Kit

The Magnetic USB-C configuration is the focused choice for a buyer who needs adaptable magnetic mounting, accessory power and added third-foot support. A larger complete kit may make more sense if you need multiple mounting methods, dedicated blind hardware, additional adapters or a carry package. Do not pay for the larger kit simply because it includes more pieces; buy it only when those pieces solve a real mounting or transport need.

Compatibility Checklist: Verify These Before Ordering

The manufacturer describes the T-CROW as compatible with common thermal imaging and night vision handhelds, but it should not be treated as universal. Confirm the exact device and vehicle.

1. Camera attachment: confirm that your optic can be secured to the supplied universal camera adapter and integrated 1/4-inch quick-release photo plate.
2. Total payload: the current metal-gear version is listed for up to approximately 7.7 lb (3.5 kg). Include the camera, adapter, cable and any attached accessory in the total.
3. Movement clearance: make sure the camera body, eyecup, lens, cable and controls will not strike the platform through its full intended movement.
4. Live video: confirm that the optic is among the supported devices or provides a suitable live-view method. The T-CROW app cannot create a video stream from a camera that does not support one.
5. USB-C power: verify the optic's charging protocol, power requirements, cable orientation and ability to operate while receiving external power.
6. Roof material: confirm that the mounting surface is ferrous steel. Magnets do not attach to aluminum, fiberglass, carbon fiber, plastic or other non-magnetic panels.
7. Surface shape and condition: the angle adjustment helps with sloped surfaces, but it cannot correct an unsafe, weak, dirty, damaged or sharply curved mounting area.

Thermal or Night Vision?

The platform is designed to carry compatible devices from either category. Choose a thermal handheld when heat detection in darkness, brush or uneven lighting is the main job. Choose a compatible night vision device when you need a more familiar visible-light image and positive visual detail under supported lighting conditions.

Why the Magnetic Base, USB-C Output and Third Foot Matter

Angle-Adjustable Magnetic Mounting

Vehicle panels are rarely perfectly flat. The angle-adjustable magnetic base helps position the T-CROW on suitable sloped steel surfaces while keeping the platform aligned for useful pan-and-tilt movement. It also makes the system removable, which is useful when the vehicle serves more than one purpose.

Magnetic mounting is convenient, not universal. Paint condition, contamination, panel thickness, panel shape, temperature and vehicle speed can affect the installation. Follow the current manufacturer instructions, inspect the contact points before every use and never assume a removable magnetic system is approved for highway travel.

USB-C Power Output

The integrated USB-C output is intended to support a compatible handheld and extend its useful operating time. That matters when the optic's internal battery would otherwise end the scanning session before the T-CROW work is finished. Actual benefit depends on the camera's power draw and charging behavior.

This output should not be described as universal fast charging. Use the correct cable, confirm the attached camera can operate while receiving power and protect the connection from strain or interference during movement.

Third Stabilizing Foot

The third foot adds another support point for the installed platform. It is especially useful when the mounted camera is heavier or the surface requires more support. The extra foot does not override the payload rating or make an unsuitable surface safe; the entire mounting arrangement still needs to be adjusted and checked correctly.

Metal-Gear Drive

The current configurable T-CROW is listed with a metal-gear set designed for heavier cameras, greater stability, low wear and smoother livestream movement. In buyer terms, this is about carrying a wider range of compatible handhelds and producing more controlled scanning movement—not changing the image quality of the camera itself.

• Assuming every metal-looking roof is magnetic: many modern trucks and utility vehicles use aluminum or composite panels.
