Full product description
Rangefinder and Binocular in One Optical Device
The RIX Tactical MK-R3000 combines an 8x32 binocular with an integrated 905nm laser rangefinder and onboard ballistic calculator eliminating the need to switch between a binocular and a separate rangefinder during a hunt or shooting session. At 5.3 inches in length and 780 grams (without batteries), the MK-R3000 is compact enough to fit in a pack pocket or chest rig while delivering ranging performance out to 3000 meters and ballistic solutions through the in-view AMOLED display.
Built around fully multi-coated ED glass objectives with greater than 87% light transmission, the MK-R3000 is purpose-built for hunters and precision shooters who need both high-quality optical glass and rapid, accurate ranging in a single device.
Why a Range-finding Binocular
Carrying a binocular and a separate handheld rangefinder is workable, but slow. Spotting a target through binoculars, switching to a rangefinder, finding the target again, and ranging it costs you time and risks losing the target altogether. A rangefinding binocular collapses that workflow into one motion: glass the target, press the R button, see the range and ballistic solution overlaid in your view without ever moving the binocular off the target. For hunters who only get one chance at a shot, that workflow advantage is real.
Beyond pure speed, integrated rangefinding binoculars also reduce the gear you have to carry and remember. One device, one set of batteries, one strap.

Common Use Cases
Long-range hunting where ranging targets and computing holdover quickly determines whether you take the shot Precision shooting and competition where ballistic solution speed and accuracy directly affects hit probability Backcountry and mountain hunting where carrying fewer devices saves weight and reduces fumbling Spotting and ranging from a fixed position in conjunction with a Kestrel anemometer for live environmental data Tactical training and reconnaissance where target distances change rapidly and continuous ranging mode is critical
Who This Is For
Hunters and shooters who want one device that handles both glassing and ranging, with an onboard ballistic engine that delivers a holdover solution rather than just a raw distance number. The MK-R3000 is built for users who already understand ballistics and want a tool that integrates with the RIX app and Kestrel anemometer ecosystem for serious long-range work.
Who This Isn't For
Casual users looking for simple short-range binoculars for bird watching or general outdoor viewing. The MK-R3000's value is in its rangefinding and ballistic features, and a non-shooter won't benefit from those capabilities enough to justify the price compared to a standard 8x32 binocular.
Frequently Asked Questions
How far can the MK-R3000 range?
Up to 3000 meters on highly reflective targets, 2500 meters on buildings, 2000 meters on trees, and 1500 meters on deer-sized targets. Ranging performance depends on target reflectivity, atmospheric conditions, and ambient light.
Is the MK-R3000 eye-safe?
Yes. The 905nm laser is FDA-classified as Class 1 eye-safe.
What batteries does it use?
A single CR2 battery powers the MK-R3000. RIX rates approximately 4000 ranging cycles per battery at 20°C.
Does it have a built-in ballistic calculator?
Yes. The MK-R3000 includes an onboard ballistic engine and an environmental sensor that automatically collects temperature, pressure, and pitch angle data. Bluetooth connectivity allows pairing with the RIX Tactical app for custom ballistic profile setup and with Kestrel anemometers for live wind data integration.
What's the difference between SRM, CRM, and BAM modes?
SRM (Single-point Ranging Mode) measures a single line-of-sight distance to a target. CRM (Continuous Ranging Mode) provides continuous real-time ranging while you track a moving target or sweep through a field. BAM (Ballistics Application Mode) layers a ballistic solution over the range showing holdover, windage, and other shooting data on the in-view display.
Can I customize ballistic profiles?
Yes. Through the RIX Tactical app over Bluetooth, you can build and save custom ballistic profiles for your specific firearm and load combinations.
Does it work with Kestrel wind meters?
Yes. The MK-R3000 supports Bluetooth connection with Kestrel anemometers for live environmental data integration.
Is the MK-R3000 waterproof?
Yes. The MK-R3000 is rated IP67, providing full dust protection and protection against temporary water submersion.
